Replacing or sprucing up my seats (which need it) will be hundreds of dollars, or even a couple thousand, depending on how far toward replacing/restoring them I go. Since you never know what will happen once you start driving a car around on the road after 30 years off of it, it seems like that kind of purely cosmetic upgrade should wait until I know for sure that the car will run reliably and is worth the investment. To this end, I’ve just ordered some cheap-ass seat covers off Amazon.com. They’ll keep things together until I decide if new seats are worth it.
